A: No. Dimming drivers can dim LEDs by reduction in the forward current, pulse width modulation (PWM) via digital control, or more sophisticated methods. Dimming does not result in a loss of efficiency. During dimming, the LEDs are still operated at the same voltage and current as during full light output. In addition, lamp life is not affected by dimming, as is sometimes the case with frequently dimmed fluorescent lighting. Rather, dimming LEDs may lengthen the useful life of LEDs, because dimming can reduce operating temperatures inside the LED Source.
A: Maybe not. Heat dispassion is the key to keep LED lights life hour longer. A good LED light should be designed in a way with a good heating dispassion design, for example, blade shape to increase the heating dispassion surface, and the materials easy for heating dispassion, for example, aluminum.
A: LED light is an energy efficient type of lighting product, some transformers which are designed for high energy consumption halogen bulbs may not be compatible with low energy consumption LED lights. Usually, this type of transformer has minimum energy load requirement, which is much higher than the energy load LED lights need. This may cause flicking or random shut down.
Solutions: If the transformer is an integral transformer for each bulb, please choose the proper transformer. If the transformer is massive transformer which operates many bulbs, please make sure that the transformer output meets LED operation requirements. Our MR16 is compatible with brand Hampton Bay and Juno Transformer. Everlumen can provide transformer which is compatible with our LED lights.
The price of an LED light depends upon a few key factors:
a. How many LED dies are used?
For example, in order to generate 500 lumen output, a 7 watt LED light can be designed to use 180 LED dies or 7 LED dies. The LED light with 7 dies is more expensive than the one with 180 LED dies.
b. Which LED chips are used?LED lights made using the CREE chip (made in USA) is more expensive than LED lights made using other LED chips. We can provide LED lights using the Cree Chip, Seoul Chip, or Edison Chip. The price and light quality will be different.
